Discovering Careers for
Marine Technology Program
Developed in partnership with Northwestern Michigan College’s (NMC) Marine Technology Department, this program introduces local high school students and recent graduates to marine technology and career opportunities they can pursue through academic programs at NMC, right here in Traverse City.
Using state of the art equipment, they will be introduced to how these technologies are utilized in real world careers in the fields of fisheries, research, engineering, emergency services, law enforcement, and more.
In order to provide an equitable experience for all, this program is offered to area schools and youth groups free of charge on a first come, first served basis.

In NMC’s Marine Technology program, academics bridge with industry in the marine space. This bachelor’s degree, the only one in the United States, has 100-percent employment. You’ll learn marine-related technical competencies along with the project management skills necessary to work on- and off-shore.
